First things first:
In Life Coaching and Executive Coaching I always start with a Chemistry Session - it’s just a chat.
There are no obligations.
WHAT IS A CHEMISTRY SESSION?
It’s an introduction. An initial chat. It gives us the opportunity to meet. You can ask me questions, find out about my style, what to expect and basically suss me out. I have the opportunity to ask what’s bringing you to coaching and ‘see’ if Im the right coach for you. Chemistry and fit are vital to us both and a chat is good way for us to both be sure - which is why I don’t charge for this.
We normally do this virtually or can do it face-to-face if you’re local to Newcastle and you’ll need around 45 minutes.
This isn’t a taster, a freebie or a sales pitch; it’s a conversation where we both establish if I’m the right coach for you right now; we both have to ‘feel’ it.
“I was new to coaching and a little sceptical. Gill clearly explained her coaching style, what I could expect from the sessions and together we set out our path and agreed on the aspects of my life that we could examine in detail. At that point I felt immediately comfortable with boundaries, confidentiality, and credibility - as this was my first venture into personal coaching, this was massively important to me.”

How much does Executive Coaching cost?
This is coaching or consulting commissioned, contracted and paid for by an organisation on behalf of an individual. This is often (not always) for a set amount of sessions over a set period of time.
Every organisation has something different in mind and so Executive Coaching is priced on request in line with your specific brief. You can find out more about how this process works here.
“Gill has coached me through a number of challenges and towards a number of goals. Gill has a true ability to take you out of your head and enable you to have a 360 view of what is going on.”
How coaching works FAQ’s
Why is there a price difference between self funded and organisation funded coaching?
My self funded clients are those who come to me and pay for coaching on their own, with no support from their organisation or schemes their organisation are part of. This is a considered investment. I’d like to be able to support this and help to make coaching accessible, as not everyone has the support of the organisation they work for, so I offer a reduction on the organisation funded rate which is my ‘standard’ coaching rate.
How long are coaching sessions?
Private coaching sessions are 90 minutes. Executive Coaching sessions are often 2 hours. I can tailor longer sessions, say a morning or afternoon. If you have something specific in mind; please ask.
How many sessions should I book to start with?
I suggest brand new, never had coaching before clients start at 12 sessions, so I offer a block price; this is a good starting point to get into the heart of what you want to shift/change/explore and to get to know each other and have some meaningful conversations.
And, you’re a smart human being, you might have your own views on what will work for you, so let’s discuss how you see it working and what feels sensible for you.
How does payment work for coaching?
Payment is via bank transfer and my only ask is that you pay in advance of the session or block of sessions before we begin.
How often should I have coaching sessions?
This is all about YOU. We will work out the right cadence/routine for your specific needs and flex accordingly so you get the right balance of coaching and time to reflect and do. Some people like once per week to get started, some prefer bi-weekly; we can discuss this together. And, things happen, life happens and best laid plans crumble; so we will adapt to suit what’s going on for you.
Do you work virtually or face-to-face?
We can work face to face if you are local to the Newcastle area (within a short distance) or virtually or I often do a hybrid of both which works well and clients love. I sometimes suggest getting outdoors for a walk if thats suitable - there is something quite special about being out doors.
Further afield? I can provide an additional cost to cover travel and time if you’d still like to work face-to-face or you can come to me.
Rest assured virtually works really well from the comfort of your own home and I have clients all over the world who work virtually.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Stuff happens to us all and sometimes you need to reschedule. I ask that you give me 48 hours notice of a reschedule and call or text and receive a reply of confirmation. No shows are a cancellation.
There is no expiry date on coaching sessions within a block-booking/programme; they remain valid indefinitely. Unused sessions won’t be refunded.
Why does coaching cost what costs and is it worth it?
Great question. I imagine most people ask themselves that. Here’s a link to a Journal post that might help you answer that question.
