Client Testimonials & Reviews
Their words, not mine.
“Gill is an amazing human. She brings insight, compassion and a sense of humour to coaching. Having a commercial background, Gill offers practical experience and business solutions with a dose of realism. But what I love most about Gill’s approach is her flexibility, recognising that everyone is different and they don’t always follow the same standard path. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. ”
“I worked with Gill for over 7 years and feel like we developed a ‘real’ understanding of each other. Always facilitating my growth whilst giving me the space to find my own way.
I value her advice and courage to stand up for what she believes in. Gill has often been my coach and mentor on (and off) the clock but now our employment relationship is over, I can actually call her my friend.”
“Gill is one of the most balanced people I have ever met. She is straight-talking whilst being compassionate. She has strength with a sense of vulnerability. She can talk a lot and advise whilst being an extraordinary listener. She pushes and prods where others may not have the courage to go, always mindful of how far is safe. Having been coached by Gill personally, I can testify to the results she brings about. Gill is special and exceptional. ”
“I wanted to leave a recommendation for Gill rather than a review as we’ve not finished our coaching yet. I work in a roofing company and my boss suggested I might benefit from coaching as I’ve stepped up into a team leader job and would like to be a manager soon. I had no idea what coaching was, other than sports / training, so didn’t know how it would work, but I agreed to try it. It’s quite hard to explain as it’s nothing like sports coaching. Coaching with Gill is unlocking stuff for me, different ways of thinking, of seeing things, seeing myself and understanding things from different perspectives. She makes a comfortable space to talk about stuff that I wouldn’t normally talk about. It’s confidential. I describe it as hearing my own thoughts out loud. Thoughts I didn’t even know I was thinking and when I am hearing myself say them to her and she replays them back – it seems to unlock stuff about myself I didn’t previously know. We’re working on how I stretch myself bit by bit into this role, finding confidence to try new stuff, but the thing I’ve found most is my own self-belief is growing, it’s more than just self-confidence and this self-belief is helping me push myself, even when it’s uncomfortable and I make mistakes. Gill doesn’t push me though; she seems to guide me to push myself and having the space to reflect on this in our sessions is great. I didn’t know what coaching was and I still can’t find the words to describe it, but I’d recommend what I’m getting so far from coaching and Gill as a brilliant coach to other people like me.”
“Gill has coached me through a number of challenges and towards a number of goals. Gill has a true ability to take you out of your head and enable you to have a 360 view of what is going on, what is real and help you to find the right way for you to take action towards your goals. Don’t get too comfortable though, there’s some real talk call outs peppered in for good measure - you can’t lie to her. A skilled and brilliant coach, particularly around imposter syndrome. I wholeheartedly recommend Gill.”
“I was new to coaching and a little sceptical. Gill clearly explained her coaching style, what I could expect from the sessions and together we set out our path and agreed on the aspects of my life that we could examine in detail. At that point I felt immediately comfortable with boundaries, confidentiality, and credibility - as this was my first venture into personal coaching, this was massively important to me.
Working with Gill as my coach over several sessions really gave me some space to think. Critical thinking; exploring my values and reflecting on specifics. We discussed how to hold myself accountable, self-regulation and just generally how to check in on myself - things I had never knowingly done before. I now feel more conscious and present when critiquing and evaluating my vision and mission, my own authenticity (that was huge!) and really living my values. These are skills I now draw upon in many of my decision-making processes in both my business and personal life. Invaluable.”
“A few months ago, I arrived at a turning point in my career and life and needed a listening ear and experienced assistance in sorting my head out and deciding the right direction for me to go.
I have had 6 coaching sessions with Gill over about 3 months. What a difference it has made. Gill actively listened to my concerns and confusion; she successfully detangled them and asked me really provoking and helpful questions to help me work out what it was I wanted to achieve and the right way to go about achieving it. I especially liked the way that Gill coaches comes over as completely natural, not at all formulaic, which I have experienced in the past. She is not only affable; it feels like you are talking to a wise friend within the boundaries of a professional context. I cannot recommend Gill enough, you really won’t regret investing in coaching sessions with her, it’s worth every penny. ”
“I have had 3 coaching sessions with Gill, at first, I was unsure what exactly it was we would cover and how it would help me in day-to-day life. We discussed work and relationships. The first session I had we talked about how nervous I was about going for an interview and how I’d been for several important interviews and not been successful; nerves completely took over. Gill helped me identify why I was nervous, how I behaved in those nerves and together we identified how to overcome the fears I had. Coaching helped me see myself and explain things to me in a way where I could reflect, analyse, and start to change a pattern of behaviours I was so used to. Even after just an hour’s session my whole mindset and outlook changed, and I really pushed myself and felt confident about the interviews I had planned unlike before where I was extremely nervous, anxious and had a lot of self-doubt. Gill’s encouragement and how she managed to identify where the root cause for my worries came from enabled me to get the confidence, change my pattern of behaviours and get 2 job offers, one of which was my dream job. Every time I spoke to Gill she was friendly, lovely, easy to talk to, had great advice and at the end of every session I felt lighter. I would definitely recommend Gill to anyone who feels like they are making similar mistakes and not moving forward, she really did help me reflect on different areas of my life, how to move forward successfully and happily. Thanks so much.”
“Although I only worked with Gill for a short period of time, I found our sessions to be very helpful. Together we decided that coaching wasn’t what I needed at this time - she could have easily carried on our sessions which would have been useful enough, but wouldn’t have got to the deeper level that I needed at the time, so I appreciate her honesty. Even in the few sessions we had together I felt at ease with her and able to open up - she’s personable and approachable but will also tell you how it is if that’s what you need.”
“I came to coaching not sure what to expect and not sure where I wanted to get to, but knew I needed ‘something’. How could talking to Gill about myself make my life and work better? Well, our sessions have exceeded every expectation; with every session it just gets better and better. Gill asked all the right questions making me really think about the how and the why of my answers. We started at the beginning, and I have grown through our sessions. I am excited to take my newfound self-belief into the world and start the next chapter I’ve been putting off.”
“Gill has been coaching a senior manager in my business for several months as part of his development plan. I’ve noticed an immediate and tangible impact in his self-awareness, self-reflection, personal contribution and overall performance in people and self-management. Markedly improved. I’m a small business and coaching is a more expensive type of development, but definitely worth the investment.”
