Life Coach Newcastle. Executive Coach Newcastle

Who is Gill Caleary?

Life Coach & Executive Coach

With a successful career for 20 years in the competitive realms of retail and airports, I held senior commercial positions in organisations like M&S and several UK airports. I was often the only woman in very male-dominated fields, working hard, tipped for exec positions and enjoying all the trimmings.  Then at around 39 I reached a breaking point and made the brave decision to step off this ladder.  I was burnt out, frazzled, emotionally exhausted and when I stopped - I totally unexpectedly fell apart a wee bit - burnout well and truly got me when I stopped.

There’s work behind recovering from Corporate Burnout and that work is what drives me to help others, not only from burnout but in all aspects of living and leadership.

This is what created Gill Caleary Coaching, focussing on executive coaching here in Newcastle and further afield and life coaching, helping folks across from many different parts of the world.

BEHIND THE SCENES

I’ve also lived a life. Unbeknownst to the external world, for many years, whilst pushing my corporate career I had been masking the scars of a traumatic chaotic childhood. This too was unexpectedly bubbling to the surface screaming for attention - adding to the frazzle.

As I began to recover from burnout and put myself back together, I delved into lots of self-help practices, coaching, and therapy to begin to align my past with my present and my future.

In my consulting business, I discovered that clients sought not only practical advice, problem solving and strategy, but also a safe space for self-exploration; to ask questions of themselves, reconcile their anxieties with their success and identify how that all sits with their hopes, dreams, ambitions, and goals for life and business. I was their safe space.

They were seeking my help to work on what’s driving them and what’s holding them back. I found my natural home as an executive coach and life coach and pursued a Master's Degree in Coaching graduating in July 2022 with distinction from Newcastle Business School at Northumbria Uni and was EMCC accredited at Senior Practitioner level shortly after.

IMPOSTER SYNDROME COACH

I’m one of the few people in the UK that have researched Imposter Syndrome - specifically coaching imposter syndrome at a masters level. I work with people with varying degrees of imposter syndrome and imposter thoughts and feelings and my own research keeps on growing.

I work as a Life Coach in Newcastle and offer face to face sessions in my office or virtually; both work equally as well. I also take on corporate coaching assignments as an Executive Coach in Newcastle and further afield.

ALWAYS LEARNING

I continually work on equipping myself to guide others, fostering self-reflection and personal growth.  I work as a consultant, non-executive professional, and executive coach and life coach; I’m at the front line with organisational leaders every day, which keeps me grounded in your real world.

Simplicity, courage, honesty, and connection became the foundations of my work and personal life ethos. I now live a much simpler life near Newcastle, practicing what I preach; breaking up my day up with walks along the beach with my bonkers cocker spaniel.

I think I’m incredibly luck to have come back from burnout, to have navigated the dark labyrinth of my childhood and come out the other side. It’s given me so much perspective, empathy, compassion and insight in doing what I love; helping others to help themselves.

What this means for you:

  • Whatever you come to talk about, sort out, sift through, solve or achieve; there’s no judgement.

  • It’s all centred on you. How you show up and how you want to show up.

  • Relationships, contribution, performance, fulfilment, effectiveness, growth, hopes and dreams are all welcome.

  • We can bring back the joy in the bloody good work you do; remember that wee flicker of joy?

Life Coaching & Executive Coaching

You might start to see things differently, radically change your mind on things you never thought you would, create sustainable change and feel better for it! Just saying…..

...the thing I’ve found most is my own self-belief is growing, it’s more than just self-confidence and this self-belief is helping me push myself, even when it’s uncomfortable and I make mistakes. Gill doesn’t push me though; she seems to guide me to push myself and having the space to reflect on this in our sessions is great. I didn’t know what coaching was and I still can’t find the words to describe it, but I’d recommend what I’m getting so far from coaching and Gill as a brilliant coach to other people like me.

Leadership is a tough space right now. Life and balance is not easy.

Preventing Burnout

It's tough to be constantly ‘on’ without burning out. I see many leaders, often women, opting out completely as mental health and well-being become a raging priority and juggling life becomes too much. I think with some help that needn't be the case; we can work together to prevent burnout, overcome imposter syndrome and all it’s chums; procrastination, perfectionism and rumination.

It’s about looking after your well-being, enhancing your delivery and the quality of key relationships. Rebuilding confidence and belief. If you feel that it is time to move on to pastures new, then we can work together to design this on your terms. If you simply want a place to take stock and reprioritise - I’m here.
